Scalloped Potatoes

Ingredients:

 

2-3 lbs

potatoes

 

½ cup

butter

 

1 cup

milk

 

a few pinches

salt

 

a few pinches

pepper

 

a few tsp

vegetable oil

Optional:

 

pinch

nutmeg

 

 

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Coat the inside of a casserole with vegetable oil. Peal and slice the raw potatoes about 1/8” or so thick, layer in casserole two slices thick, on the top of all layers put salt, pepper and dabs of butter. Repeat layering until casserole is ¾ full. Pour milk down the sides of the casserole as to not ‘wash off’ the salt and pepper. Sprinkle with nutmeg is desired. Cover and bake 375 45-60 min. Potatoes should be tender and browned at the edges of the casserole.
